This Week at NYCEDC:
We unveiled the winner of the NYC Best for Business Infographic Competition: Sara Matiz, who gave us 57,321,231,319 reasons why NYC is the best place to do business
We “transformed” Roosevelt Island with early renderings of the new Cornell NYC Tech applied sciences campus
We took a look at voter registration and participation in NYC with the October Economic Snapshot and Podcast
We saluted American innovation along with Martha Stewart as she kicked off “American Made,” an event honoring 11 outstanding entrepreneurs
We took the HELM, a competition aimed at bringing the best and brightest companies and talent to Lower Manhattan with $1 million in cash prizes
We broke ground on infrastructure improvements in Springfield Gardens that will alleviate chronic flooding as well as bring new green technology to help treat runoff water
We got a glimpse of High Line Section 3, slated to be developed as the rest of the iconic green space
We launched New York’s Next Top Makers, a competition to promote 3-D printing and innovative manufacturing in New York City
We kicked off the ConnectNYC Fiber Challenge for small and medium sized businesses to enter to win a free high-speed fiber broadband build-out
