Design Entrepreneurs NYC is one of six initiatives under Bloomberg’s Fashion NYC 2020 plan, devoted to growing the city’s fashion industry by attracting new talent and encouraging innovation.
The fashion industry is an important part of the New York economy, employing 165,000 people, about 5.5 % of the city’s workforce, and generating nearly $2 billion in tax revenue annually.
