Scholar in Residence (SIR) at NYCEDC
Ph.D. students, this one’s for you. We have multiple openings for Scholars in Residence (SIR) to conduct research from within the Economic Research and Analysis department at NYCEDC’s Center for Economic Transformation.
This department publishes our monthly Economic Snapshot, Employment Update, annual City Update, Industry Snapshots, and the NYC Innovation Index. Under the supervision of Chief Economist Francesco Brindisi, the department performs fiscal and economic impact analyses and policy evaluation for NYCEDC, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, and the Mayor’s Office and also maintains a wealth of data on the City’s economy.
The Scholar in Residence will produce original, co-authored work in the fields of urban, real estate and public economics, innovation economics, or urban economic development. NYCEDC can provide access to datasets on intellectual property and venture capital; labor, employment, and demographic indicators; real estate; and taxation and economic development.
The candidate should be a Ph.D. student in economics, finance, real estate, public policy or a related field. This will be a part-time position for up to six months with nominal compensation.
